The term Ogive refers to the mathematical definition of the streamlined, 'rocket cone' shaped phased plug in the centre of the waveguide assembly, whose function is to ensure that energy contunues to be delivered throughthe waveguide in the highest frequesncy ranges. The Ogive phase plug assists the critical shortening in the propagation path of the acoustic wavefront which results in wider directivity at high frequencies.
